Looking for a useful answer?

Read this first and make sure you checked all steps: www.csvimproved.com/frequently-asked-questions/635-troubleshooting-import-errors

Don't just say it doesn't work but describe in detail what is happening and add the following information:
* VirtueMart version
* CSVI version (Latest is not a version number)
* Sample of the file being imported
* Collected debug information

Without this information you won't get a useful answer. If no debug log is attached, you will get a request to post it.

Where to get the debug information?

A tutorial ( www.csvimproved.com/frequently-asked-questions/390-how-to-collect-debug-information ) has been written to help you collect your debug information.

GSN created the topic: Product Import - Images failing to upload
I would like to import some products into my store using CSVI. I created an import template as attached, however the product images seem not to upload. This causes an error on the website front end. The whole website goes BLANK. It appears as all the other fields populate with the correct information except 'picture_url'. On my product export this field is named 'product_url' It just would not come up the same on import template.
I already have the images uploaded to /images/stories/virtuemart/product/ and have named them according to my product_sku
and then the image ext. I am attaching the .csv file for import as well as the resulted product export with missing picture_url.
* VirtueMart version VirtueMart 2.6.18
* CSVI version (Latest is not a version number) 5.21.2
* Sample of the file being imported ATTACHED
* Collected debug information ATTACHED

Hello,

Thank you for the elaborate information, now we can give you a good answer.

It appears as all the other fields populate with the correct information except 'picture_url'.

The field picture_url doesn't exist for import, this is only used for export to get the full URL to the image. The correct field for the image is product_image or file_url, that depends on your VirtueMart version. Since we no longer support Joomla 2.5 and VirtueMart 2, you will have to check which field it is exactly.

The other issue I see in your debug log is the following:

process_image: No

. In your import template you need to set Process Images to Yes, otherwise CSVI will not process the images at all.

To also have the thumbnails set, you can set the Create thumbnails to Yes as well.

With those changes you should be able to import your images.

Kind regards,

RolandD
